You have to grow from inside out-Swami Vivekananda

You have to grow from inside out: Growth, whether it is spiritual or emotional has a significance in our life. It is extremely important to decide how we approach this. Most times we are often lured by the spiritual teachers on influencers on how to grow. It is as if they hold the answers on how this growth can happen and they take shape as Gurus in our life. However, this quote brings a different perspective to spiritual growth – You have to grow from inside out! Each journey is internal and only we can decide what this growth means to us.

It is more about introspection, learning what works for us – taking the ownership and onus to our hands instead of relying on someone else to tell us what this growth entails. The central meaning of this quote – you have to grow from inside out is about this type of growth – something that’s core within us that leads to external growth. The external growth is sometimes easy but what takes more work and longer lasting is how much we grow internally to face the world as it is and make sense out of it.

You have to grow from inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual.
There is no other teacher but your own soul.

You have to grow from inside out

I’ve always been a huge fan of Vivekananda’s words. I’ve spent numerous hours of my childhood reading his words and being tremendously inspired by them. The growth Vivekananda talks about here is about our personality, character and anything that’s deeply internal to us. This growth doesn’t show to the external world easily because it is not always easily accessible. However, the beauty is that it is accessible to us if we delve deeper.

You have to grow from the inside out, None can teach you, none can make you spiritual, There is no other teacher but your own soul, Swami Vivekananda Quotes

The central meaning of this quote is in the belief and understanding of self. Our minds are exceedingly complex and create different perspectives. This makes it very difficult for someone else to tell us what this growth is about. Instead, if we are able to learn about ourselves and spend time in understanding our minds – a new world opens up to us.

You have to grow from inside out – This is the world that needs growth, nourishment and change because it is has the potential to change everything it touches. In essence, all power is within us to effect this growth and make the change that we desire.

None can teach you, none can make you spiritual

It is a hoax is someone else can make you spiritual. The spirituality – at least the true one is internal. Also one of the main things to remember is that spirituality is different to each individual. Hence the idea of having a guru who can teach us or make us spiritual is flawed right from the start. It is difficult and dark and we don’t know the answers.

All power is within you; you can do anything and everything. Believe in that, do not believe that you are weak; do not believe that you are half-crazy lunatics, as most of us do nowadays. You can do any thing and everything, without even the guidance of any one. Stand up and express the divinity within you
All power is within you, you can do anything and everything. Believe in that, do not believe that you are weak; do not believe that you are half-crazy lunatics, as most of us do nowadays. You can do any thing and everything, without even the guidance of any one. Stand up and express the divinity within you.”

But we have to trust our mind and the power that lies within us to find out what makes us spiritual. It can be different types of love, the way we connect with life. You see, this is very complex and yet beautiful because only you can make this simple. No one can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There are no easy steps to get there. Hence the quote and its reference saying that you have to grow from inside out – you have to go from complexity to simple! It is all about finding yourself and committing yourself to self knowledge and finding out what makes you tick.

There is no other teacher but your soul

This is the last part of the quote – you have to grow inside out from Swami Vivekananda. Our soul represents this fabric of multiple thoughts and values that define us. It is a place where things get intertwined with our character. There’s no hiding from our true selves in this world. This true self tells us what’s most important and valuable to us. This is not corrupted by the external world, but a pure space where only you have this entry.

It is from this divine space that we get our knowledge and learnings from. This can tell us more things and help us learn about ourselves. The most beneficial thing we can do is to start learning to become better at listening to ourselves.

You have to grow from inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual.
There is no other teacher but your own soul.
