Why Explainer Videos Work So Well for Presentations

If you own a company, then you might create products and services that customers buy when they visit your brick-and-mortar store locations. You might also have a business model where you visit companies and extol a product’s virtues, though.

Maybe you’ve created a software suite that companies can use throughout their workdays. Every employee can log on and share project updates, message each other, and so forth.

You can tell a company what your software suite does, or you can show them. An explainer video lets you do that. We will discuss why your company should create some explainer videos right now.

Humans Like Visual Elements

If you visit a company’s website, you might see they don’t have visual elements, like slideshows, pictures, or videos. Instead, they just have text blocks. They’re long, and they’re boring, and you find yourself falling asleep while reading them.

You will not like visiting that website, and you might dislike it so much that you’ll go with a competitor for that reason alone. It’s the same when you’re visiting a company, and you’re presenting something, or when they’re visiting you for the same reason.

You can talk about a product or service you offer till you’re blue in the face, and maybe you can sell that product or service, but probably, you can’t. That’s because you’re boring the company decision-makers sitting in front of you. You may see their eyes wander while you’re describing your product or service’s features, and you’ll know you’re losing them.

If you make an explainer video, you can create excitement while you introduce your product or service. The explainer video can run through what the product or service does step by step.

It should draw the potential client or customer in, and you will most likely get a conversion. This means a sale in marketing parlance.

You’re Not Explaining a Product’s Use on the Fly

Maybe you’re a fantastic public speaker, but perhaps you’re not so great. If you’re not, don’t feel bad. Not everyone has that special gift.

You might know that you have an excellent product or service, but perhaps you don’t relish the idea of standing up in front of a group of dubious potential customers and talking about it. Maybe you’re fine introducing the basic concept, but an explainer video can handle this task so much better.

If you’re relying on just your speaking abilities to sell this product or service, maybe you’ve practiced this speech several times, but you still may feel nervous when the big moment arrives. You might stumble over words, sweat, or stammer.

You can avoid all that by briefly introducing the explainer video and then letting it handle this job for you. The explainer video probably features a professional voice actor doing the voiceover narration. It likely features some fun animations that will show the product or service in action.

Also, if you use an explainer video to sell the product or service, you’re not forgetting to mention any of the features. Your marketing team probably wrote the script, and you know they included all the key bullet points about the service or product that you must convey to get that all-important sale.

You Can Make the Explainer Video the Perfect Length

You can also make the explainer video the ideal length. If you have a particularly complex process or product that you must explain, maybe it is fifteen minutes or so. Any longer than that, and you will likely lose the audience’s attention.

Generally, you will want a shorter video. If you have a relatively easy concept that you’re conveying, you might have a 5–8-minute explainer video.

It will hit all the bullet points while showing animation featuring the product or service doing its intended purpose. It should convey exactly why the would-be customer needs this product or service, and you know you’re getting the point across because you revised and edited the script till it only touched on the most crucial elements.

A good explainer video can showcase your product or service’s best features, and it can get the would-be customer excited about what your company can do for them. You can also feature an explainer video on your website’s landing page if you’re not visiting companies and trying to sell your products and services that way.

Either way, you can easily see why explainer videos work so well. They can act as a part of your sales team.
