The World ain’t all sunshine and rainbows, it’s not how hard you hit

The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows: This is such a powerful quote from the movie Rocky! It evokes the reality of the world and dare I say the naivety of planning. The world is a real place that has many challenges and unknowns. If you or I expect it to be a certain way, we’re bound to be disappointed. We have to find a way to make a mark amidst these rainy days as well.

The most powerful aspect of this quote is when Rocky talks about what fighting is about and how it makes a difference. We can feel sad that things are not working for us. But this sadness makes us think of ourselves as a victim. But success or failure doesn’t care about these excuses. It is about how quickly we are willing to go beyond these reasons and do what’s right for us. That’s what success is all about – it is not how hard you hit – but how many times you can get up.

The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows

The world is not a rosy place. It will never be aligned to whatever we want it to do. It’s not a supporting, comforting space where things will align just because you want something desperately. The world is going to test us. It is going to make us question every single one of our moves. It will even make us question our confidence, ability and even our desire. These are the times when we have to remember that the world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. The world is a really mean and tough place. It expects the toughest out of you. It expects you to show how hard you can fight and keep going on, even when things are not working in your favour. It reminds me of the beautiful quote from Ben Franklin: If you’re going through hell, keep going!

It is not about How Hard You Hit, But It is about How many times You Can Get Hit and Keep Moving Forward – Rocky Balboa

As the quote in Rocky says, It’s not about how hard you hit, it’s not about how much you fight. It’s about how many times you can get back up. This is all about perseverance. It’s about keeping your fighting spirit alive and making sure that you keep at it, even when things are not working in your favor. And this is the toughest part of following a dream, right? It’s not when things are easy that our capabilities are tested. It’s at times of such difficulty when we have to question everything that we get something deeper within us something powerful and fascinating that tells us how important this dream is, and that helps you to keep going forward.

It is about how many times you can get hit and keep moving forward

This has perseverance written all over it. As you look at this specific video snippet from Rocky telling his son about how hard life is, you just realize it doesn’t matter. The World ain’t all sunshine and rainbows, it’s not how hard you hit. Nobody comes to you and asks you how hard life has been for you. All that matters is what you’ve done with the life you’ve got. Every one of us has a scale of our opportunities and challenges. We can’t cover ourselves under the excuses of these of these challenges. The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullshit story of why you couldn’t do it!

Also, when we win, we don’t always highlight all the opportunities we’ve got. There is always an element of luck which helps us move forward. There is always an element of being unlucky which pulls us backward. But the real quest is when we look beyond all of these opportunities and challenges and keep our eyes fixated on the goal That helps us to keep moving forward, even when we get hit, even when we fall, because that’s what it’s all about. Finally, if we get up only when the final goal is reached. We can tell ourselves that we’ve done everything we could, in our power. That’s where the true perceiver comes into play.

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!
