As a founder, I used to wonder about the purpose of these events. The most important value created by the events is to enable meetings between the right people. During the startup’s early days, since most people don’t know about your company, it helps to reach out at these events and build a network.
This can be a great way to showcase products, meet potential customers and gain knowledge about your area of business. For startup founders, the most important connections can be in the form of startup funding – potential investors, and venture capitalists. Apart from loans, as a founder, it is compelling to find out options around equity funding for your venture.
National Startup Day 2024 theme
Awaiting an official announcement on the theme of 2024’s National Startup Day. We can however be certain that it will be something to further leadership abilities and innovation to grow and expand. Some things to look out for are – the impact of startups on the Indian economy, and new startups created in 2024. I would also be very curious about any new announcements from the government to help entrepreneurs create businesses better and remove obstacles in their way.

National Startup Day 2023
It was exciting to see the news last year for a formal launch of National Startup Day. It was done as a mark of recognition of Startup’s contribution to the Indian economy, ability to create compelling change, etc. The first startup day was held on 16 Jan 2023 with a decision to create this as an annual recurring event. It is meant to drive forward the spirit of entrepreneurship.
The theme of National Startup Day 2023 was: Founders of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow. I love the idea of a new wave of businesses coming up to create economic wealth. It will only improve by creating a suitable infrastructure that makes it easy for startups to innovate.
