Many people die at twenty-five & aren’t buried until seventy-five-Benjamin Franklin

Many people die at twenty-five: Today’s quote of the day is a discussion about passion, life and how much of it we are fully invested in. This quote by Benjamin Franklin kicks me, to push and ask this question – Am I living my life to the fullest? If not – Why? Honestly, we can come up with multiple answers and rationalise that our bad experiences have made us feel this way. Is that an excuse we are comfortable and happy to live with?

This quote forms a part of the collection – Benjamin Franklin Quotes but I like its relevance to our daily lives. The question dates back to the spirit of what we define makes our lives? If I look back now – I miss my naivety, devil may care attitude along with the incorrigible confidence that I could create magic around me. It was connected to the immense self-confidence coupled with a cushion that life would be ok even if I fail.

A few failures and experiences later, I miss this feeling of confidence. You might recall me talking about training self-confidence to be on top of the game. I do however admit that it is not the easiest emotion to look beyond your failures and dream big.

How to break the fear of bad experiences and failures?

I suppose this has been one of my lessons growing up. A few bruises hurt us and also the spirit to keep trying. We no wonder grow smarter, but also a bit circumspect before making new decisions. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But it can turn out to be one if we let this fear dominate our ambitions and desires.

The purpose of this thought for the day is to stop for a minute and question ourselves – are we being fair to ourselves? Is there a dream or desire we want to pursue which is facing the brunt of these wounds? It is amazing if you don’t have any of these. But if you do, perhaps it is worth stopping for a minute to question yourself and think of this quote from Benjamin Franklin
