It Does Not Matter How Slowly you go as long as you don’t stop!

It does not matter how slowly you go: In this discussion, we tackle the quote – It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you keep going. Here, we discuss the concept of success being a journey rather than a destination. Surely, you will have many successes in your life. It is about balancing these successes and failures to ensure that you don’t miss the big picture. This quote analysis is about not losing sight of the big picture while working on the small details. The meaning of this quote can be summarised in 3 points:

  1. Goals can change, but the purpose is long term
  2. Change is not only optional but necessary
  3. Improvement is the goal at each point

It Does Not Matter How Slowly you go as long as you don’t stop Meaning

Life is all about progress! It doesn’t stop whether you have problems or sickness. Life is both cruel and beautiful because it keeps moving. That’s the central meaning of this quote – to keep going and moving forward. Sometimes we may slow down, but that’s not an excuse to stop. Nothing is an excuse to stop because time doesn’t wait for you or me.

Life is about perseverance and continuously moving forward. Sometimes, the speed at which we can move is limited by external factors. But the best thing we can do is to keep trying and showing small amounts of progress. Over time these small amounts aggregate and create a huge difference.

As long as you don’t stop

The meaning of it does not matter how slowly you go as long as you don’t stop can be summarised in these key points

  • Determination, perseverance and continuity go a long way in helping us achieve our goals and life journey
  • Speed of progress varies, we can’t always be consistent, but the direction of progress needs to be forward to help us grow
  • The main message says not to give up and continue persevering and persisting even if it becomes difficult
  • There is a motivation in keeping our heads down and moving forward and not succumbing to self-pity and helplessness

You can’t afford to forget the big picture at the cost of these momentary occurrences, whether it is a failure or success. Both of these are in your life for a reason. It is up to you and me to use this for our best benefit. No matter how slowly we move, we just ought to progress. We must keep our focus fixed on the long-term goal. The best thing to do might be to split it into realistic, achievable components with clear milestones. This will help us maintain our focus and measure whether we’re getting closer to our goals or not. But the main thing to remember is – it doesn’t matter how slowly we are going. We ought to keep moving.

Hi Mayuresh, I do remember you. How are you doing? It has been a while since I wrote and would like to do this everyday from now. Would love to hear your thoughts and be in touch.

The founder of InsightsIAS is a very good friend of mine. I made 2 attempts at IAS exams, went until the interview stage to return empty handed and finally quit in 2012 to answer a different calling. I do understand the pain of prep and constant need of motivation for this exam.

Are you in the preparatory state for these exams ?

      1. Mayuresh

Yes, working on it….it might have been difficult to leave after reaching Interview stage…

It was Mayuresh, one of the tougher decisions I had to take. But I guess it all came back to priorities and I had my mind set on something else. I wanted to do something which I could commit myself to completely.

All we need is a spark to engage a fantastic conversation, please leave your thoughts to inspire our readers
