Keep Going Even if you are Scared:

Occasionally we run into a few quotes which make us stop for a minute and gasp – WOW! And this for me is one such as we delve into the quote analysis section today. This quote speaks to me about perseverance, and the adages of – If the going gets tough, the tough get going, priorities and fear. I do agree that there is more to a quote than the slight adrenaline rush it gives us. And perhaps that’s what defines a quote into a continued motivator which takes the shape and form of plan, strategy and deliverables.

As a practice, I would like to talk about the three different aspects of this quote: If something is important enough, even if you are scared, you will keep going!

Endurance Quotes

Endurance is crucial for overcoming challenges and achieving success. It requires persistence, perseverance, and resilience. Endurance quotes inspire and motivate us during tough times. They remind us that setbacks and obstacles are temporary. True strength lies in our ability to endure.

These quotes encourage us to stay focused, determined, and committed to our goals. They remind us that with patience, determination, and unwavering perseverance, we can overcome any obstacle. Endurance quotes remind us that greatness often emerges from the ability to endure. Success is attainable for those who never give up.

If Something is important enough

This has prioritisation written all over it! If you’ve ever been in a startup or considered being in a small business; I can certainly assume your resonance here. The fact is – there are about a hundred things coming your way on a daily basis.

Inspirational quote, quote on perseverance, perseverance quotes, motivational quotes, prioritisation quotes, hard work quotes, scared quotes, startup quotes, fear quotes, time management quotes, endurance quotes, quote analysis, quote of the day, meaning of the quote, if something is important enough keep going, elon musk quote on perseverance , Elon Musk if something is important enough

Particularly on such days, it is exceedingly important to consider prioritizations to ensure that your ‘Big Ticket Items’ are addressed. In the past we discussed Eisenhowever Matrix for prioritisation, MOSCOW rule for product management. Our most popular discussion – Time Management strategies explores similar ideas. Each of these talk about the first key tenet – Knowing what’s really important.

I do appreciate that this sounds extremely simplisitc. But that doesn’t mean it is untrue. Considering how many urgent things take our time and we are left with very little for the really important ones.

Even though it might sound tacky, I would still like to assert a weighted approach. Some Urgent Items can really afford to wait! We cannot lose the woods for the trees. In order to win the battle, sometimes we have to be prepared to lose the small wars.

Even if you are scared! – Don’t Stop!

There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world_ those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed.”

Gosh, if I look back and wonder about the number of things that have scared me from the day I decided to become an entrepreneur – I would run out of space to write about it.

No entrepreneurial journey would ever be complete without being mortally scared about the prospect of the things that scare us.

Facing our fears and limitations

It was the fear of acceptance of an idea, not being ridiculed by people around me and of course the fear of leaving the comfort zone of a job, etc. As the number of days in the startup journey passed, the fears only compounded – Do we have sufficient funding, will we be able to complete the project in time? Are our competitors running way ahead of us?

I suppose none of these questions ever stop. We probably just get better at handling and answering them. We have to be afraid and scared of things we are uncomfortable with. Every emotion is a valuable signal and a message. Fear in this instance is telling us that there is something we are not prepared for.

And in a startup, there are plenty of things we are not prepared for at all. That cannot necessarily mean that we are going to stop!

Keep Going – Perseverance

If you’re starting something on your own, you better have a passion for it, because this is hard work._ -Sallie Krawcheck, Co-founder of Ellevest

I suppose this is the crux of all – the perseverance, endurance or the grit to keep going. I like the words perseverance and resilience – personally they mean a lot to me as it keeps me very excited and offers a silver lining.

Although, none of the articles out there will tell you to know that you need to prepared to quit when you are convinced, I do admire the importance of quitting too. It never means that you are weak – it sometimes can also mean that you think it is not worthy of getting the time and effort it demands.

Never Quit!

Many people talk about never quitting or giving up. It speaks to a perseverant and an energetic side in me. But I also don’t want to be falsely engaged in a wrong moral which doesn’t benefit me. Everything I can see in a startup journey is based on what we truly want/don’t want.

There will always be external factors which influence us in decision making. But are these external factors deciders?

I personally don’t think there is anything beyond a person’s will and desire and probably that is the reason why there are so many achievements in this world. Perseverance is a beautiful aspect to work for and the quote beautifully portrays it. But every bit of motivation in the end is only present to serve us. As long as that is addressed, I can see the beauty in this quote resonate through.
