This is something that definitely catches the eye. Gwyneth Paltrow to live on 29$ food stamp for a week. In other words just about 1.38$ per meal.
How about that for some inspiration. The idea is pretty simple – to increase awareness about hunger, to do something to end world hunger and basically take part in the pressing issues of the day, extending a helping hand in any simple way one can. The challenge is about those 1.7 million new yorkers who live on food stamps and also an attempt to raise awareness and support the initiative via donations.

It has long been mentioned that world hunger is a looming challenge, something that stares at us right in the eye. It is nice to see people from different fora taking up this challenge and rising up to the occasion to raise awareness about the pressing issues. The question is how can we contribute?
So how can one contribute to reducing world hunger? Now I feel like a school student asked to write an essay and I am thinking about answers like these
– Waste less food
– Donate extra food to the poor
– Make contributions to the local charities
Although all of these sound simple and easy to do, somehow something seems to hold us back. Is it cos the idea is so simple? Or is it that it is a completely new practice and we don’t really know if we are going to follow through with it.
So what is the solution we can come up with to follow up on the food promise and to actually contribute?
We can certainly send some money to organizations which are working on that front so that it becomes more organized.
We can help serve food at the local centres once every week, it might not eliminate world hunger but it can certainly be a start.
We can sponsor a meal or meals for a month for a poor child through organizations.
We can sponsor education of a child by taking care of them for a month or virtually adopting them for a month.
These are the simple things we can actually do. Going on a challenge and a diet might not be the easiest thing for a simpleton like me to do and the reason might be as simple as I am not too enthusiastic about this particular challenge but I would certainly like to help and in my own way.
These were a few ways we could think of, maybe some of them make sense and some of them don’t. And maybe there are a few more ideas you would like to share and we would love to add that up for our list here.
The final goal is just simple = to see how well we can add value to the lives of people around us. That doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to go out of our way to make it happen or do it through a flamboyant gesture. There are a lot of simple ways in which we can make an impact and this can be a simple start as well.
