Finding Fault is easy, so is judging people!

Finding fault is easy: The paths of judgement and solutions are always strewn with surprises and confusion. It is almost instantaneous for us to come to a decision upon an event, a judgement if I may say. Also, it may be a natural stock response for us to do that, perhaps it is right as well.

Life will be awesome if everything we get is perfect. Equally, it will be terribly boring! There is a certain sense of beauty in imperfection and continually striving to grow. This article is a brief reminder of a beautiful quote by Henry Ford – to focus on the solution rather than the faults of imperfection.

Finding Fault is Easy!

I’ll redirect you to the collection of Henry Ford quotes for a better view of his quotes. Let’s look at the perspective in this quote and the premise that – finding faults is easy.

Why is finding faults easy? – The simplest answer is that it doesn’t require any work to find faults with people or even our outcomes. When we have no responsibility or ownership of fixing something, it is almost a selfish image to tell ourselves that we’re better. In other words, we’re serving our ego in doing that. If these faults are found with a view to help and improve the outcomes, then almost immediately, this fault-finding exercise becomes a beautiful ordeal.

Some other perspectives to think about when you think of finding faults:

Judgement is easy

it is fairly direct and simple for us to point out who is wrong and who is right and we may be completely justified on every front. But is the judgement helping us? Is it aiding the thought process and getting us toward a solution?

Ultimately if our thoughts don’t help us grow – why do they deserver to be a part of our daily life?

Is fault more important than the outcome?

We need to ask ourselves this question. We belong to a culture where people find faults and make fun of our shortcomings. But, what does that really achieve? It is similar to gossip – other than entertainment at someone else’s cost – it gives no value.

Failures are our biggest source of feedback. If we’re not using it for growth, we’re the biggest fools in the world.

Finding fault may make you feel better but that hardly solves anything! Isn’t that true? Why are we doing this in the first place? Is it about making us feel better? I guess a part of it may be true. But we are all evolved people here, we do know that it is not just about feeling better, it is quite easy to find ways for that. But I guess we need to be a little bigger than that. Cos, in the end, I am sure it is not the faults which matter, it is what we are after.
