    Very informative post !
We deals in Cancer diagnostics products & found that in last couple of years breast cancer is increasing very fast in India & treatment part is very costly. Best way to avoid is as suggested by you is only regular check ups and self examination. .

      Thank you, Mahesh.
I heard the same in a report, about how fast the growth of cancer is. We hope women become aware of this examination and help save themselves and others :)

Breast cancer can be treated if diagnosed in early stage. Regular check-up is the only solution.

  2. It’s such an useful post Vidyashree…the self-examination methods should be known to all women. The statistics given are really alarming. Thanks for coming up with such an issue. Much appreciated.

    P.S the video you’ve shared says a lot… :-(

Thanks Maniparna :) I hope you will spread the message among your friends and family :)

Great post Vidyashree, it is a fact that lack of information about breast cancer is one of the main reason behind the death of many women. Many people came to know about it at last stage only, but if they could trace it earlier their life would have been saved…. Thanks for writing a blog on such a topic…

Sometimes, lack of ignorance can put our lives to risk. Thank you ALok for appreciating this effort. I am sure you would spread awareness among the ones you care :)

Isolation is also a cause of high rate of mortality. In 2006, a study by US epidemiologist Candyce Kroenke suggested that women who were most socially isolated were twice as likely to
die from the disease like breast cancer as women with the strongest social network were.

Family members and friends should care about them. Yes care is better than cure. However, if a surgery is on its way then their shouldn’t be dearth of mental support for the brave lady.

Thank you Nitin for the information. Isolation a cause? never thought about it. I don’t know what could be the biological factors to see such large number of deaths in isolated women. But it actually makes sense as you can see isolated people might ignore minute details of life or might neglect health as there focus is more on psychologically affecting or troubling things to them.

yeah it is a cause ma’am. I got to know about it recently while drafting a post. Here is the link of my post. http://greybmusings.wordpress.com/2014/09/12/philips-interactive-patient-forum-that-kills-loneliness-of-patients/

You can see that Philips has came with an innovative idea to avert this isolation and the psychological barrier.
