Usain Bolt also called the lightning bolt is undoubtedly the fastest man on earth has won 6 olympic medals and more than 8 world championship so far. He is currently in news for winning the gold medal in relay with Jamaica. I was reading about him , one link led to another and I reached the The secrets of my success: Usain Bolt article from the dailymail.co.uk. He talks about his love for running and motivation.
Here are few picks from the post:

Fearing of losing motivates:
I always thought fear of losing was an absolute de-motivator. Fear is something which sets you doubts and uncertainty and makes you give up the thought of trying but it’s surprising to see how well he has converted his fears to build up an imperishable psychology of motivation. The fear of letting yourself down your expectation can actually motivate you.

You need to be around right people:

On the first day of my college my brother said “it doesn’t really matter if you are friends with a person who excels in studies or the one who drops out of college but it does matter a lot to be friends with the ones who have a purpose in life.” We all know the importance of having the right people around, the ones who set us examples, the ones who motivate and support us and the ones who make us realize the importance of life. It’s with the right people you realize you have so much more to bring out of yourself.

Enjoy whatever you do :

This has been the ultimate reason for finding success by most of the people. Do what you love and enjoy the process of reaching the goal. In the end whatever you do, either earning millions and billions or becoming famous links to your happiness and that’s the reason why you do what you do.

Usain Bolt is an inspiring man for many of us. A few say he is gifted with talent and a physique which helps him run. I am sure his height is a plus point for him. I also agree he is talented but we do know talent alone didn’t bring him so far. There are days and years of hard work which is mostly kept out of the picture.

THE 4 MINUTE MILE – IMPOSSIBLE?
THE 4 MINUTE MILE – IMPOSSIBLE?

Writing about Usain reminds me of time when people believed THE 4 MINUTE MILE – IMPOSSIBLE? to complete in 4 minutes. We see a lot of people who break this frequently now. You will find enough people putting barriers to your believes what really matters is how strong you can hold on to your belief and try hard.

Thank you Krishna :). I think there is a strong correlation between sports and our lives. Only thing is that sports is a lot faster and a lot more energetic :).. But the parallels are certainly amazing :)

Barriers and boundaries are meant to be broken and this is surely one man who has been breaking record after record with ease. Surely there will be many in the future who will even break his records, wonder if there is even a minute chance that an Indian will have that honor.

Thank you Athena :). I agree, barriers are meant to be broken, rules are meant to be bent and I guess that is how history is made and there are always these beautiful spirits of inspiration to look up to and see how much we can derive from them :)
