Anxiety, Stress management : 7 Creative ways

How to Deal with Anxiety!

We all feel anxious sometimes. Nervousness, stress, tension are the main symptoms of anxiety and most times we even fail to recognize its occurrence. Here is a post by my dear friend Alok Vats written for the passionate people of this site on 7 ways to deal with anxiety!

Honestly anxiety is nothing special; we all do feel these emotions sometimes in our life. It is quite natural that we feel stressed before any big event of our life, like before giving the exams or before any presentation in office or even asking out the girl of your dreams. Many a time people mistake this word anxiety as something big or a medical disorder, but it is actually nothing but taking stress for all and sundry reasons.

Very few times, it does becomes dangerous to be a victim of anxiety on a regular basis. Ideally you should consult a doctor in this condition. But normally anxiety can be controlled. Dealing with anxiety is not a big task; only thing which you need is the determination to deal with stress and anxiety.

If you are determined enough, you can easily deal with anxiety.

Ways to Deal with Anxiety!

Many people actually don’t know how to deal with anxiety attacks; here are some of the ways to deal with anxiety:

Take a Break

If you are observing that stress and anxiety are continuously prevailing then it is better to take a break from your regular routine.

Relaxing your body and mind is sometimes becomes essential. We all assume that we know how can we relax, but actually it is not true. Honestly when I hear someone saying that they relax in front of the television set or computer either playing some games or chatting with friends on Facebook, I actually feel that these are not the best way to relax you. You are actually increasing the level of stress on your mind as well as on your body too.

If you really want to take a break, then you should go and play some outdoor games, especially games in which team spirit is required. It will energize you.

On the other hand, you can also go for meditation, or yoga. It can truly relax your body and mind. I know with outdoor sports your body will not get the relaxation, but then your mind will, and it will surely impact your body too.

Read Books

This is something which I usually prefer. Reading books, blogs, magazines, newspapers, etc. are something which can easily help to get rid of the anxiety.

Want to know about the other benefits of reading, and then you should read my blog on 10 benefits of reading. It might inspire you to read.

Listen to Music

If you want to get rid of stress and anxiety then music is the best medicine for you. You can actually fill up your life with the tune of the soft music to relax yourself. Music has such a soothing effect on our mind and soul that it can really help you to get relax.

Changing Food Preferences

It is a fact that some food items like coffee, alcoholic drinks, etc. are really harmful for us. We normally think that it can reduce stress level, but actually these are some items which eventually help them to grow further inside us.

Some food items like ice creams, snacks, etc. which contains high level of sugar and starch is also dangerous for our anxiety level. It is actually because they actually de-control the sugar level of our body which is harmful for someone who is fighting with anxiety.

Instead of these things people should increase the intakes of green vegetables, fruits, food with high antioxidants; fish, almonds, etc. are actually useful in fighting against anxiety.

Regular Exercise

We say that there stays a healthy mind inside a fit body. Honestly we need to remain fit to deal with anxiety and stress. We all should do a bit of regular exercise to maintain good health.

Many studies have proved that regular exercise can help you to deal with daily anxiety.

Take a Deep Breath

I recently shared a blog post on how to control anger, and the best way to do so is to take deep breath. If you are feeling stressed out, try taking deep breath and you will feel that stress is removing from you.

Thus, it can be a useful tool to get rid of anxiety.

Proper Sleep

The main reason of anxiety is actually our improper sleep and it happens because of the busy and fast lifestyle which we are living.

We actually need a proper sleep of at least 7 or 8 hours daily. If we are missing the same, we are actually attracting anxiety to prevail in our life.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Honestly speaking we all are fighting with two types of anxieties, one is which we can control while other one is the sources of anxiety which we cannot control. Truly speaking if you can identify the things which you can control then obviously it won’t give you any anxiety. On the other hand if you can realize that there are some reasons of your anxiety in which you cannot do anything then wise decision will be to leave it in the same way as it is.

Thus the best thing which I can suggest anyone is to keep a note of all the reasons of anxiety in their life. This way you can understand all the reasons which might affect your life, and you can control which you can.

I am yet to try regular exercising but Reading books and taking a deep breath have always helped me to control my anxiety ! But I even eat 2 to 3 icecream cones to reduce my anxiety but hey for me it has helped . I am not sure if changing food preferences is going to help me but I can definitely count on getting more sleep. Nice helpful post :)

Thank you so much Najm Nisa for your comments and appreciation. Honestly if ice creams are helping you then it is happening because you don’t have uncontrolled sugar level, and hence it might help you. But those whose Sugar Level don’t remain constant might get affected because of it, cause when you eat ice cream or something which has high intake of sugar, it surely increase there sugar level instantly, which might be harmful for them, even more than anxiety…
