Quotes from John Lennon: What would the world be without Beatles? John Lennon was one of the most influential and inspiring people in the world of music. In this article, we will focus on a few such quotes by John Lenon that inspire us and analyse their meaning.

Inspiring quotes from John Lennon

Here is a small collection of 5 inspiring quotes about the themes of love, life and happiness.

When I was five years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.

You’re just left with yourself all the time, whatever you do anyway. You’ve got to get down to your own God in your own temple. It’s all down to you, mate.

There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.

Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.

Yeah we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun.

Such a beautiful message about happiness. We all scramble through life thinking about purpose, our value and identity. Let’s start with love, happiness and joy. These can be powerful goals to take us through life and continue to help us grow and rejoice. Maybe there are a lot of people who are bound by the societal norms of success and failure. Perhaps, we can break this chain and focus on being happy. What’s the point of fame, money or anything else if we don’t know how to be happy right?

You’re just left with yourself all the time, whatever you do anyway. You’ve got to get down to your own God in your own temple. It’s all down to you, mate – John Lennon Quotes

We spend the highest amount of time with ourselves. If we don’t find or make ourselves the most interesting person, then life is going to be difficult. It is all down to us and who we are, what we think and say to ourselves. We project this image on the external world too. Instead of worrying about the people around us, we should worry about who we are and what we are becoming. If we are not being ourselves, then there’s a problem that we need to fix.

I love this. Fear and love are both inspiring. Fear helps us to move away from things and be careful. Love however is a positive force that draws us close to people. It makes us do things out of hope, warmth and openness. The obvious answer is to choose love. But choosing love needs bravery, being open to hurt and vulnerability. Fear stops us from choosing love many times. This bravery and strength of character that love gives is special and can take us a long way. This love for ourselves, others is such a powerful force that it can change the world one small step at a time.

Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted – Quotes from John Lennon

I agree that time is an investment. We must be very careful about where and what we spend this time with. However, life is not just utilitarian right? The purpose of life is to enjoy and have fun. If we are not doing that then we are wasting some of the precious moments in life. So, the next time you enjoy it, please don’t sully it by calling it a waste of time. This is a great source of energy that motivates us continuously and deserves its place and prominence in life.

Yeah we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun.

Positivism and hope change the way you look at life and yes someday you will shine out. You deserve it for all the efforts and hard work you put in. Our time will come – this will require patience and perseverance. Most importantly these quotes by John Lennon tell us to be patient and wait our time and turn. Until then, we can enjoy our life and spread love and warmth around us.
