In reply to Abhijit Ray. Thank you Abhijit. That is perhaps one of the most superficial kinds of display of kindness, esp when they are done for PR and advertising. The one we do without any expectation in return is the one which gives us satisfaction outclassed. There is a mighty beautiful world out there, the one we can truly embrace if we can step up a bit and widen our arms to accept it :)

Kindness->Selfish->expression->Joy->Selfless expression->Joy-> Selfishness :) Quite a circle indeed :). A very good question. If kindness brought us sorrow, I guess we would run away from it as far as possible. :)

We are kind because we are selfish
Empathising gives some comfort to the mind
And kindness, expression of joy makes us happy.
If kindness brought us sorrow would we be kind? I doubt that unless we do that forr loved ones and we define that to be happiness.
Sharing and serving are opportunities thrown to us because we are privileged to do them :)

Shun those who do their kindness act under the light of media. There are many who feel the pain of others and do things without expecting any return. Still kind act makes one feel good at least for a while. Sometime the act of do gooding can be irritating. It may appear to be patronizing. Many may detest such act.
