Self reliance is a virtue! So many times when things go off hand, it becomes so easy to blame things around right from the society to people, to opportunities and the climate, the reasons never seem to end and each one more justified than the other. But perhaps there is a better question here.

Of course things do happen, we don’t have much control on them, but we can certainly control how we react to them, what is the attitude we face them with and most importantly what we do about it.

Most times when things go wrong, we see that we blame so many things and usually the last one to take the blame is our own self. And I do agree that there are very solid reasons for that, one better than the other, but that certainly doesn’t change the outcome.

We can still blame things around, but there are the things that are beyond our control. Even if they are wrong, there is nothing much we can do about it. But there is something we can do about the scenario, we can decide and say – This is an outcome, it is secondary whether I like it or not, it has already happened. Now, it is up to me to decide whether I let that take control over me or I take control over that and my life. The answers are always quite easy. We sometimes just need to ask the right questions.

  1. True my friend. I think people around us do matter a lot when it comes to shaping our thoughts , expressing or countering views and giving us the much needed solace. Like you said the final call and responsibility always comes to us..

Thanks so much for stopping by and the comment . Would love to keep hearing your views.

  2. While I am fully responsible for what happens to me and how I handle it, I would like to stress the importance of connections, which I think is very important in helping me handle many situations :-).
