What advice would you give to your younger self?

“What advice would you give to your younger self?” Oprah asked the same question to John Mackey, Sue Monk Kidd, Arianna Huffington and Dr Shefali Tsabary. Their answers are great advice and are worth giving a thought.

Dr.Shefali Tsabary:

“Life doesn’t happen to us, but happens with us.”- Shefali Tsabary

Our younger selves have made plenty of mistakes and stupid things. No matter how bad you feel to accept it, it was all needed to bring you to the level where you are today. You might think of a few pieces of advice for your own younger self now. Maybe, “to give more time to family,” “make more money,” “travel more,” or “maintain health.” We are not asking you to regret your past thinking about it, the whole idea is to implement the advice if you are unknowingly making the same mistakes.

And when given a chance to learn from others’ mistakes, then why be hesitant? After all, you don’t have enough time to make all the mistakes by yourself, so why not generously accept others’ experiences?

  1. Vinay, LinkedIn also recently ran a series on #IfIWere22 on their Pulse platform. While the advice is sound, I think young people rarely listen to elderly wisdom. Life’s like that. Young people are programmed to challenge older wisdom and discover life for themselves:) But hey, us oldies have to do our duty.

All are inspiring quotes…but such realizations always come late…. :-D
