Cultivation of mind should be the ultimate aim of human existence.. Ambedkar Quotes.

“Cultivation of mind should be the ultimate aim of human existence.”

-B. R. Ambedkar

The ultimate aim of human existence? What is it? – Money, passion, inspiration, growth of one’s mind. I guess the idea is philosophical here. The moment we try to focus on the expansion of one’s mind, we also focus on improving our chances of achieving our dreams and reaching out to the true aspirations which we are made of.

I like the religion that teaches liberty, equality and fraternity… Ambedkar Quotes

“I like the religion that teaches liberty, equality and fraternity.”
B. R. Ambedkar

The purpose of religion? – Esp in the days of fundamental riots and people trying to impose their views and forcefully convert others? What is the true purpose of religion. In one word, it can be tolerance, mutual appreciation, respect and above all the truth and development of an individual to the best of his capacities. There is no religion without a human being, it is time that the focus is dealt on that.

Life should be great rather than long…Ambedkar Quotes

“Life should be great rather than long”

How should one’s life be? Should we look at achievement, fulfillment, longevity, enjoyment? I do agree that the answers are different to each one of us and rightly so. There can never be one single answer or a right answer, but this one seems to make sense – making life great, making life count. I would like to believe that we all are here for a reason and that reason is unique to each one of us. The purpose is just to try and live to these ideals and make the best out of ourselves.

men are mortal quotes, ambedkar quote on ideas, ideas are immortal quotes, ideas quotes, inspiring quotes

“Men are mortal. So are ideas. An idea needs propagation as much as a plant needs watering. Otherwise both will wither and die.”
-B. R. Ambedkar

4) “Men are mortal. So are ideas. An idea needs propagation as much as a plant needs watering. Otherwise both will wither and die.”

-B. R. Ambedkar

None of us are immortal – no matter how much we like to be. But of course there is a way to leave our thoughts, ideas and visions behind – these visions can act as driving forces to future generations. They may act as the collective aspiration of a society, they might even act as a window to the past. But they do stay longer, they are immortal and make a statement at each walk of life. None of us remember Gandhi or Nehru as a person, maybe cos we never met them, but we do remember them as ideas, aspirations and characters and they all have been immortal in their own ways through us.

ambedkar quotes, ambedkar on religion, religion and its meaning quotes, inspiring quotes, religion and principles quote

Religion must mainly be a matter of principles only
– Ambedkar Quotes

“Religion must mainly be a matter of principles only. It cannot be a matter of rules. The moment it degenerates into rules, it ceases to be a religion, as it kills responsibility which is an essence of the true religious act.”
– B.R.Ambedkar

Religion, personality, character and the very definition of a person and a human being is an amalgamation of values and ideas, the thoughts we stand for, the thoughts we promote and the ones we live for through our lives. Knowingly or unknowingly we all have our own value counters filled up and we react to them inadvertently. So should be religion. It cannot be about rules or the matters of worship and the way it is done. It is more about the matter of principles, the reason behind religion and the very purpose of it.

”The Duty must be performed, let the Efforts be successful or not,let the work be Appreciated or not. When a man’s Sincerity of purpose and Capacity are proved even his enemies come to respect him”

This quote is added upon our friend Vinod’s suggestion. I almost feel bad for having missed this one but thanks to Vinod, we now have the 6th quote :). This quote kinda links Karmayoga to me. I am no expert, but Karmayoga simply speaks about actions and actions alone. It sounds too philosophical on the outset but if you delve deep into it, the logic and the sense in it is absolutely brilliant. Do the work for the sake of work alone and the rest of everything will follow you. It simply says- just focus on what you have to do and do a damn good job at it, the rest of it is simply an outcome which you should not really be too concerned about. For that outcome is going to happen and this work is going to serve you some way or the other.

The means ends theory if I may generalise!

These were our top quotes from Ambedkar, if you think we missed any, please do let us know below and it would be a delight to add to the list.
