Success is peace of Mind Quote and Meaning

Success is peace of mind: A wonderful quote by John Wooden talking about the purpose and meaning of success in life. Is success a finite, result-oriented approach or a continuous process for you to keep growing? Ultimately what is the purpose of this success in relation to our own values and personal standards in life?

Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.

John Wooden

In this article, we explore the meaning of success, how it is related to a journey and not a single destination. In analysing this quote from John Wooden, we explore the following key ideas about success and how to use it to achieve your dreams.

Who said Success is peace of mind knowing you did your best

This is a beautiful quote by John Wooden that talks about success being a continuous process. The meaning of this quote is in looking beyond specific events. Our goals help us identify where we are going. But these goals fail on a long term basis where we define success at the life level. Our goals might help us achieve short term results. But the long term focus of life is still going to be about continuous progress, movement and growth.

Success is peace of mind in knowing you did your best meaning

The meaning of this quote by John Wooden about success can be explained in 3 key points.

Success is not finite: It does not have a starting or an endpoint whereas success is a continuous journey. Along the journey, sometimes we have unfavourable results and some other times – very favourable ones. But we must remember that these are just outcomes. If success had an endpoint, life would be boring.

Success is a mindset: I like the latter part of this quote – success is the peace of mind – knowing that you’re doing your best! It may sound a bit philosophical but think about it. We have finite resources and can only do a few things with our life. But, in this process, can we be the best at the things we try? If so, isn’t that success?

Success is a journey: The last point I’d like to impress in the meaning of success is peace of mind is – success is a continuous process. It keeps changing with our experiences and age. If we allow the world’s definition of success, it has a way of influencing our internal peace of mind. The journey keeps going and so does your success. At any point, we can hope and try to be the best version of ourselves. And this involves constant progress. And maybe that’s the goal – not perfection but continuous progress!

…hi all, nothing is right and nothing is wrong…as long as you do not harm others by purposeful intention, others include everything…human,animals,plants,nature,river,oceans..anything and everything that exists…we know the definition for success from human point or perspectives…what about other things that exist..for instance..mining brings job opportunities for us as humans, money..cash flows in..we buy stuff..but over a period of time what happens to nature or other living creatures in case of deforestation…..i feel we as humans impose our definition of success on other things that exist……now over so many years we are realising that the very definition of success do not fulfill the criteria of being successful for us humans itself…there are lot ..of differences in opinion…….industrialisation ,capitalism on one hand and hunger, drought , slums, beggars, lack of education and basic necessities for our own kind on other hand will only tell us that we may be so called successful in individual way but …a big time failures as human beings…

    1. Thank you Sapana. I think that is the beauty of the definition of success, the way it can define itself for different people. Kinda goes to say that we define what we want for ourselves – Maybe.
