Rahul dravid – the wall retires from international cricket
I have always been fascinated by this one cricketer – Rahul Dravid. Everything about him spoke of character, depth and personality in all accords. I still remember the day when he was no more on the Indian cricket ODI team and I was thinking whether it was about time that even I stopped watching cricket.

There have been hundreds of those moments when I have been thoroughly inspired by this man as a personality. A true gentleman if I can call him so. The many matches he has won for the country, esp the series in Australia, the multiple roles he has played and the way he has adapted and reinvented himself through the era of cricket has been fantastic. He has been the wall to rely on and has single handedly won so many matches for India, esp in the test segment!
He is one cricketer who has stayed the tide of time right from the era where test cricket was absolutely classy to the one dayers and later even the twenty twenties. I am sure that there are a lot of critics who would try and point out a few limitations but I guess those will always be there and this was one man who stood beyond those critics and proved them all wrong under many circumstances and many occasions as well.
I am very proud of the fact that I have been a fan of this one flambuoyant cricketer, not just for the cricket but also the character he brought into it. Here are a few personality traits which I love about him and which will be thoroughly missed

and I am sure I can come up with a lot more. I just wanted to say that he is one man who deserves all the respect he is provided with. Like I promised, it will not be a listing session and there are some beautiful sites which do that.
I honestly felt a man of this gait deserves a mention for keeping us this inspired for so long..
