Positive Quotes : Rudyard Kipling : I Always Prefer To See The Best Of Everybody,It Saves So Much Trouble

Positive Quotes:

Well as our new tradition, we revisit the idea of some or at least one positive quotes per and here is today’s quote from Rudyard Kipling about people, and our perceptions. What is the first thing that comes to our mind when someone does something we don’t really like? How do we react to it?

What is our opinion about this person from now on? Well! Rudyard Kipling has an answer.

rudyard kipling quote, rudyard kipling best of everybody, rudyard kipling best in everyone, rudyard kipling people quotes

We have heard of this pretty often haven’t we? – It is wrong to judge people, it is wrong to say whether someone is right or wrong.

And it is wrong to have negative vibes about someone and lead a life full of positive aura. Although it sounds great in principle, I still seem to wonder how practical it is or any of these quotes really are.

But hey a question is always a great way to get us into the brainstorming session and that is what we are going to try today.

“I Always Prefer To See The Best Of Everybody,It Saves So Much Trouble”

says Rudyard Kipling. And I think – So Elegant! Right?

See the best in people, so simple and so easy. But why is it so hard to follow? If it was really easy then we would have no enemies at all.

But I see the intelligence in this quote. Ever heard of the statement – “Hate The Crime, Not the Doer?” Well it is something like that.

Everything we do, is a behavior of ours, some we have knowingly cultivated like greeting someone with a smile or being nice to someone new, etc. And some unknowingly cultivated like a cold reaction upon seeing someone or being rude and making snide remarks right to the face.

Basically every little or big thing we do is a behavior and a habit and slowly that becomes an attitude. And I am sure that none of us are in complete awe and love about our behaviors. There are some parts of us which we would like to work on and be better at. And there are other parts which we wish people would never know.

Nevertheless these are ours and we own them and the reason why we are afraid to show them to the general public is because we know that the public will not appreciate us for what we have and focus on what we don’t! And naturally we would like to be protective about it!

Well! So will the others. I think if we start looking at every occurrence with people as a behavior and start saying that I don’t like this particular behavior instead of saying – I hate him. It becomes a lot easier for us to work on our relationships.

There are and will be some wonderful aspects which we will love about these people and we do not want a bad behavior or a bad aberration spoil that. We would want that part to be untainted cos that is a beautiful segment which was already there. You wouldn’t want a bad experience discourage you from the beautiful experiences of life.

So would it be with people as well. As Mother Theresa said

“If you judge people, you have no time to love them”

In other words, hate the crime, not the doer :). Or like Kipling said – Just try to find the best in someone you meet, something you like and something you like to dwell on.

It doesn’t make you a great person, it doesn’t make the other person any smaller. But it surely improves the quality of your life. It is an attitude to find beauty in things and it is a habit to find the fault with our stars.

The choice is ultimately ours, do we want to bitch about things or do we want to enjoy them?

  1. Thank you Swati. I can’t tell you how much that means to me. I have always been excited about what motivates us and the way we all think and can outperform our own selves. It feels really awesome to be identified and acknowledged for what we really try to do and this is a beautiful comment Swati, made my day :) :)..

This is indeed a huge compliment and I promise you to live up to this expectation and keep bringing such interesting stuff :). . Would love to keep hearing from you.

I have always loved quotes and the impact they create on us. And the positive quotes section was an extension of that. I am really pleased to know the warm welcome it is getting. I can assuredly say that it is going to be a regular feature from our end :)

  2. Vinay I must say that I love to visit your site. It is incredibly intuitive, and it has really helped me in bringing a better version of me.

  3. Thank you Alok :).. I think there is so much of beauty in this world we miss out on cos we are caught up in the frame of the society. Just stepping out of it to embrace the real world out there and developing the perception of finding good in people is an amazing feat indeed :)

  4. Thank you Sreedhar.. We hope to keep up this tradition of coming up with daily inspirational quotes and a small write up about them. So you might see quite a bit of us in the coming days :)

  5. True Gowthama, it is about how we train our brains consciously or unconsciously. It is sometimes as simple as this – we get what we seek – if we are looking for faults, we will find them. If we are looking for beauty, we will find them in every walk of our lives. I really don’t care whether it is noble or not, but it sure keeps our lives in a very positive frame :)

  6. He he :). Cute?! :)..

Thank you Najm. I think when I started this site, I always had a thing for these positive quotes. But somehow in the excitement of covering these many areas, I had forgotten to revisit how beautiful they are.. These quotes really lighten our days and the views of our world and make it so much simpler and exciting.. I hope to keep up the promise of atleast one quote per day, among with the other How To’s :)..

  7. Thank you Swati. As always it is very refreshing to hear from you :).. I guess part of it is our cultural training to blame. We have all been taught to be perfect , if not – then find fault with others.. Kinda like – The fault with our stars!

This way, we are able to disconnect from the negatives and look at the so many wonderful things right in front of us which we seem to miss out on :)..

Thanks so much Swati, the positive quotes section is really receiving a very good feedback. Gonna keep this coming :)
