Mark Bezos: You Are No Hero

Mark Bezos: You Are No Hero

Mark Bezos works at Robin Hood, a poverty-fighting charity foundation in New York. He is also the assistant captain of a volunteer fire company. He talks about an experience in his early days of volunteering for the fire company, an experience with saving a pair of shoes.

Saving a pair of shoes could sound funny but Mark has his beautiful explanation and meaning to it.

You Are No Hero

“Saving a pair of shoes?” Not very heroic for a fire volunteer, right? Mark felt the same initially but his small act did make a difference. He was appreciated for his effort, for his courage to rescue. Saving a pair of shoes isn’t a big deal but its way better than saving nothing at all.

They All Matter

Every small act of kindness can bring a positive difference in life. You never know until you never do it. Mark says “Not every day is going to offer us a chance to save somebody’s life, but every day offers us an opportunity to affect one.”

If You Have Something To Give, GIVE IT NOW!

“The day I earn more I will be able to give more.” That’s the common attitude we have. In fact that’s something appreciable to have thought to make a difference in the world we live. But if only money solved everything! There are plenty other things which can help others. A little something from what you have can mean a big something to someone. The power of now is greater than the power of tomorrow.

Marks gives a great message, he says “Don’t wait until you make your first million to make a difference in somebody’s life. If you have something to give, give it now.”

Get In The Game, Save The Shoes

Lets find that missing shoes in people’s life and save it for them, not to prove ourselves great or heroic but to prove ourselves to have lived better than we lived yesterday :)

  1. That was a motivating article. my favourite concept start with saving a shoe….affect someones life…even the smallest act of kindness works wonders. Welcome back.

  2. When most of us hear charity we relate it to money, providing what we may have in abundance or more than our needs can also be charity. Nice post.
