Our favourite Joey (Joey Tribbiani) is in news. He recently appeared on a television show ‘The Graham Norton Show’ entertaining people singing a song(Joey’s song) from F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Traits of Joey Tribbiani that inspire us:

Sweet:

I guess you are 100% in agreement with me if I say Joey is the sweetest of all characters in friends. Don’t you? The way he takes care of his friends, family and also the animals is adorable. Do you remember the episode where he sacrifices eating non-veg for his friend phoebe Buffay? He was there all the time when his friends needed him and he was there for them even when they didn’t need him at all.

Keeping The Child Alive

This is my favourite trait of Joey. He never tries to hide his emotions. He makes sure to let it all free and spontaneous just like a child.His innocence, his child-like having fun, his enthusiasm, much more to mention, all these make him more adorable. No matter how old Joey grew he was a child and remained a child at heart throughout all the 10 seasons.

We tend to cover up the child in us and try to be serious most of the times. Joey teaches us that it isn’t bad to let the child in us free and happy often and enjoy life the child way.

Contented

We know the basic needs of anybody are the food, shelter and health ( some money too). Think about the basic needs of Joey. ‘FOOD’ is the only thing that comes to our mind, right? On a serious note, the character Joey never dreamed of great things in life( the things that money could buy) Even though he once had that all, in the end he choose a simple life with his best friend. He was happy with the little he had. Maybe, he is right, the more we crave for the materialistic pleasure the more the focus from the pleasure what little things can bring us fades off.

Friendship

The first thing that pops to our mind when we think of Joey is his friendship with chandler Bing, imperishable! Not just with Chandler. His friendship with every main character of F.R.I.E.N.S series is laudable.

Never give up

Do you have a count on the auditions he attended? I am sure even Joey doesn’t have the count. Despite his failures, his rejections and negative remarks Joey never gave up on his ambition.

Most adorable stupid

Yes, Joey was stupid at times but he was the most adorable stupid! This quality of him reminds me of the times when we pretend to be the most intelligent among the crowd and make a complete fool of ourselves. It’s OK not to know something. It isn’t a sign of a dumb person. But yes! If you ignore to ask and learn and pretend to know everything then yes maybe you are proving yourself to be dumb.

Foodie

I thought I would not include this one and later I felt I had to mention this, Joey’s favourite, “Food”

Very few of us enjoy eating food and we mostly don’t concentrate on what we eat. Gulping is one thing whereas enjoying it is another. Maybe, we should start enjoying what we eat. And start appreciating the wonderful creation of ingredients by the God and the wonderful inventions of humans by cooking it in the right way.

Every time you see friends every time you realise there is something to learn from it. After all, F.R.I.E.N.D.S isn’t just a comedy series, it is much more than that.

It’s great to know that Matt LeBlanc, the man who made Joey memorable is a man with great thoughts. Sharing a few of those:

I keep waiting for the roof to cave in. I was raised to follow the Golden Rule, you know, treat people the way you wish to be treated. That’s kind of the way I live my life. Maybe someone up there likes me for that.

As an actor, the biggest compliment you can get, in my book is for someone to believe that you’re the character.

I have funny bones. If there’s ever any kind of tension, I’ll always be the one to try and be funny to loosen things up.

I believe that laughter is the best emotional Band-Aid in the world. It’s like nature’s Neosporin.
