10 Silly Steps To Stop Overthinking

Do you think you think a lot and suffer? Do you think if only you had control over the thoughts, life would have been so much simpler? Do you think you could have felt a lot better about yourself?

What do we do to avoid something like this, how do we avoid overthinking a lot? What are the major problems I have felt but not faced due to overthinking? Is there a way to avoid my overthinking affect me? Here are a few thoughts that might help

Analyze the situation

Identify what the situation is trying to tell you. Like we have always professed, every emotion is a signal, trying to send you a message, it is trying to tell you that there is something that needs to be resolved and it is asking you to take action on it.

Talk to a friend, talk about solutions.

Sympathy is very easy to get and at some point we like the comfort of knowing that there is someone who listens to us and empathizes with us. But that is not going to offer you the solution; it might give you the temporary solace but not the solution.

Tend to Assume the worst

It is also natural that we tend to assume the worst when something happens and think that is the only possibility. But let us step back and see what we do if that happens, how we tackle the worst situation. The moment your mind realizes that you are ready for a solution, that you are working on that front, it relaxes you, brings you to a serenity which is unmatched by words. Listen to music, the harder and more thumping  it is, the better.

Please do not listen to the melancholic songs which have lyrics which make you ponder, it is natural we tend to go into the mode of slow sad songs, but trust me it is going to offer a lot of sympathy to you since you feel that there is so much to relate to, but never a solution. We don’t want you to feel sorry for yourself, we don’t want anyone to feel sorry for you. What has happened, no one had control over that, what you want to do about it, you have every control on that! Work on that front instead. The thumping music helps the adrenaline rush, anger is a great emotion and so is the passion if it is put in the right direction.

Join A Gym, Work Out, Play A Game

A great way to release stress is to put your body in stress. Go out, run! Join a gym, work out! Play a game, drain your energy, the run of emotions when complemented with the physical action brings in a great balance between the two. It is easy to cuddle and sleep inside a blanket, go out and spend that adrenaline, it puts thoughts in order. Here are 10 simple tips to motivate you to go to gym everyday

Be upbeat, meet more upbeat people.

We tend to be in a circle which our mindset is in. We all are very clever people and try to choose something we are very comfortable with. But a comfortable place gives you the smugness but no solution. Smile more often!

If mind has a way of creating an impact on your body and expressions, the body certainly has a similar impact. If the emotional quotient has an impact on the physical, the vice versa also has to be true – The law of universality!

Read a good book

Again something that tingles your senses, something that keeps your mind stimulated. Watch a great movie, something that inspires you.

Above all action!

Action is the only thing that makes a difference. Knowledge is a very powerful tool and we all are very smart people but that alone never made a difference in life. There were smarter people than Steve jobs I am sure but why did he alone go to make the difference? There are somethings which matter a little more than smartness, it is your mental makeup, the way you are and the whole personality!

So, if you are feeling a little blue, a little down, shake yourself up mate, it is no big a deal. There is a solution out there, go out and find it. You will eventually find it any way but the idea is how fast you find it!
