Every so often I keep asking myself this question — Am I really getting what I want and most times it somehow feels to me that I am not. Maybe the dreams and expectations are too high, but I would like to ask another question to that – Why not? This is my life, I’d rather dream big cos I would love to have all those things in my life and all those achievements which make me feel great about myself.
But I guess that doesn’t seem to happen so easily. Or maybe I think there might be another way to look at it. Of course things might not be in the best shape but there is something. I don’t think life is going to offer us something just cos we desire it. Life is going to offer us what we deserve. We may not be very happy to accept that, we may even argue that we deserve more than that. Unfortunately we are not the decision makers most times about what we get. But the good news is that we are the decision makers as to how we take it. We might deny and curse but that is not going to change the result but there might be a slight undertone on the same, it might be offering you this one small thing so that you ready yourself for the bigger one. Make yourself capable of it, deserve the desire and the rest is going to take care of itself. That is probably what Dalai Lama is trying to say. And it might actually be a great thing not getting what you want, cos sometimes we keep our goals too low and what we deserve can be way bigger than that.
I do agree that it is not easy to identify the same, but you don’t need to identify everything to believe in something right? Faith is a beautiful thing, we just have to find a good use to it.
