Robin Williams : 5 unforgettable quotes from

It’s saddening to know about the death of Robin Williams, may his soul rest in peace. The first movie that comes to my mind when I hear his name is Jumanji. He has entertained us with movies like Patch Adams, Popeye, Dead Poets Society, Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting, Night at the Museum and many more and his characters have always had an inspiring effect on people.

Here are 5 such inspiring quotes :

You’re only given one little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.
You can’t always rely on someone for igniting the spark of laughter and happiness in you. Everybody has something which defines a little madness in them, keep it burning always because life would be boring without it.
There is no great genius without a mixture of madness.” -Aristotle

There is still a lot to learn and there is always great stuff out there. Even mistakes can be wonderful.
Most of the times mistakes turn out to be an accurate feedback you receive which teaches you on what to do and what not. Embrace the mistakes as the learning experiences of life and let it feed your minds right.

You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee you, you’ll win, no matter what the outcome.” – Patch Adams (movie)
It’s heartwarming to see people love you more when you treat them well. A warm smile can bring many smiles, a simple touch with care can create a secured feeling and kind words can  instil peace.

No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.”- Dead Poets Society (movie)
We have seen hundreds of examples for this where people were de-motivated for their ideas and beliefs but the same ideas and the same beliefs proved people wrong and changed the way they saw the world.

Imagining something is better than remembering something.”- The World According to Garp (movie)
More often we tend to remember the bitter memories of life. Ask yourself if the thoughts are empowering you and the answer will always be “no” where as imagination is an empowering thought that fills you with the hopes of possibilities.Careful with the thoughts you choose for your mind as  they are the  foundations you are building for the actions to be performed.

  1. Thanks Alok, I loved him from the first few movies I saw of him – Jumanji, Patch Adams, Flubber.. All of them were such great hits. It is unfortunate the way he died, but he has left so much of greatness to the world. I always felt very happy seeing him on the screen and felt that there was something really nice about his smile and to know this much about such a great actor is indeed a delight :)

  2. The first quote is my favourite and somewhat a part of me. I would be happy to announce that Mr. Robin Williams has given us lots of laughs and smiles to cherish and it would have been better if it was more extended but thank God that he was there!

  3. Maniparna Sengupta Majumder

Great quotes and thanks for sharing …. :-) we’ve lost a great genius…

  4. Honestly Vinay, I was not at all aware about Robin Williams, whatever I came to know about his is unfortunately after his death only. When I first hear about the sad demise of him, I just searched for him and then came to know about him many good things.

Sometimes I just wonder those who gives the rest of the world, the opportunity to laugh, sometimes they were the most saddest people in their own life. I just wonder why is this depression prevail such people?

This is the reason why I always try to motivate others…

  5. After hearing his story on the news with his depression and rehab he is the only person whom I have truly felt sorry for to have actually gone through this phase in his life…he is such a hoot in his movies…I enjoy watching Mrs.Doubtfire and that’s my fav movie of his….he is very genuine at heart….
